Sandra Ricci
Biologist at ICR
Sandra Ricci graduated in Natural Sciences in 1979 and obtained her PhD in Evolutionary Biology at the Università degli Studi La Sapienza (Rome) in 1987. Since 1981 she works at ISCR where she leads the Laboratory of Biological Investigation. Sandra works at the Scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio (Advanced Vocational School) at ISCR, where she teaches Marine biology and Biology applied to restoration. Her research interests focus mainly on the study of biodeterioration and bioerosion phenomena on stone materials in subaerial and submerged sites.
She is a member of the UNI-NORMAL-B Committee at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, created to define standard methods for study and preservation of natural and artificial stone materials. Sandra Ricci is the author of more than 100 scientific publications in national and international journals and conference proceedings.
